A gentle, non-stripping barrier-repair cleanser is ideal alongside retinol — it cleanses without acids or harsh surfactants that would compound retinol dryness and irritation.
Snail mucin layers freely with retinol and helps offset retinol dryness/flaking by adding lightweight hydration and barrier support before the serum.
Niacinamide pairs with everything and is excellent with retinol — it strengthens the barrier and calms retinol-related redness; the added 1% hyaluronic acid boosts hydration. Apply on alternate-step nights or layer the same night.
A ceramide-rich barrier cream calms and hydrates skin that retinol can dry out — no extra actives, so your barrier isn’t over-stressed.
Retinol increases photosensitivity, so a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every morning is non-negotiable; the vitamin C + E here adds daytime antioxidant brightening that complements the retinol's overnight renewal.
